If you're just looking for a backup band to help you practice, then you don't need much out of the program. The program does so much, that it's easy to get overwhelmed. I think the trick with BIAB is to keep it simple. Left click you mouse on “back to normal,” and that instrument will start playing again. On the instrument you want to un-mute, left click on the “down arrow” and another menu will appear. Left click your mouse on “Bar settings.” Another menu will appear. If you want that instrument to start playing again at a certain measure, right click your mouse on that measure. Select mute and that instrument will be muted for the whole song. You can also mute instruments you don’t want playing, by right clicking your mouse on the instrument at the top of the page, that you want muted. You can do it again and get an “e” and “f” substyle.Ĥ. Left click on “define substyle.” You now have the ability to have a “c” and “d” substyle. You can get more substyles if you need them, such as “c” and “d,” if you right click your mouse on the measure with “a” and “b.” A small menu will appear. Left clicking your mouse on these measures will alternate between “a”, “b“, or no letter at all, and the rhythm pattern will change as the letter changes.ģ. Jrbanjo - The rhythm patterns and solo’s are controlled by the “letter” on some of the measures. ![]() ![]() Chords don’t always change at the beginning of a measure. If the chords are input incorrectly, the rhythm will be off, and not what you are accustom to hearing. Have you looked at “Chords entry-how to” in the help index. Of that the tracks are just missing from my installation disk? Have other people who have the bluegrass edition gotten everything to work OK? The BIAB contact person replied to my email and told me to reinstall the program, but that didn't help. Unfortunately, all I have now are the midi tracks, which are a poor substitute. BIAB has a bluegrass demo on their site, and all the main instruments are included, and they sound like live players. ![]() And when I located the real tracks and solos folders in my Applications folder, they were empty. I bought the bluegrass deluxe edition, but when I open up my real tracks, styles and solos in the dialogue, none of the bluegrass instruments show up. Their email response wasn't particularly helpful, so I thought I'd post it here, on the off chance that someone on BHO has had the same problem. ![]() I tried calling the help line, but they're only open while I'm at work, so I don't know when I'll be able to talk to someone. However, I am having a problem getting the bluegrass instruments to play in the program. Instead, I can switch from soloing to backup, just like at a real jam. I made some backup tracks with acoustic guitar parts, and it feels like I'm really practicing a song, instead on just repeating the solo over and over. I just got Band in a Box, and I really like it. ![]()
